Liverpool have become the latest club to express serious interest in acquiring Almeria's attacking midfielder Sergio Arribas, as Jürgen Klopp's side bolster their offensive options ahead of the new campaign.

The Reds have already moved to strengthen their attack this summer, bringing in Spanish winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna and completing the long-anticipated arrival of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes. These additions come with Mohamed Salah's departure and Cody Gakpo's disappointing form last season necessitating urgent reinforcement in the final third.

Whilst Munoz represents a solid opening gambit, Liverpool remain keen to add another elite winger to their ranks. RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande had been their primary target, though the German club's forward has since signalled a preference for Paris Saint-Germain instead. That development has forced the Merseyside club to explore alternative avenues, with PSG's Bradley Barcola now featuring prominently on their radar should the French champions complete their move for Diomande.

Yet Liverpool are casting their net wider than just the wings. The club has identified Almeria's Arribas as a potential acquisition, with the Madrid academy product having enjoyed a breakout campaign in Spain's second tier. The 25-year-old plundered 25 goals across 42 league matches as Almeria finished third, only to see their promotion aspirations dashed in the Segunda Division play-offs against Malaga.

The prospect of top-flight football slipping through their fingers could present Liverpool with an opportunity to prise Arribas away from the Andalusian outfit. The Reds' recruitment team continues to hunt for emerging talents with scope for development and the potential to make an immediate impact in attack—a description that fits Arribas to the letter.

Real Madrid retain a significant stake in the forward's future, having produced him through their academy. Any sale would necessitate the Spanish giants receiving 50 per cent of the transfer fee, though Almeria view their star attacker as a valuable commodity regardless of that arrangement.

Liverpool's interest has intensified the competition for Arribas's signature. Sporting Lisbon have been tracking the player for some time and remain closely engaged in the situation, having previously signed Atlético Madrid's Luis Javier Suárez. The Portuguese club owns 50 per cent of Arribas's registration rights, positioning them as a serious contender should negotiations progress. Whilst no formal bid has yet materialised from any interested party, the accumulating interest suggests a significant summer move could be on the cards for the promising talent.
