United Eye Ndidi Swoop as Solskjaer Clears Path for Hull Chase

Manchester United are weighing up a move for Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as they continue their hunt for fresh faces in the engine room this summer.
The Old Trafford hierarchy have already wrapped up a deal for Atalanta's Ederson—pending the formalities—but the appetite for reinforcements in midfield appears far from satisfied. Reports suggest United could be in the market for at least one, possibly two additional options to strengthen that department.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe's approach to the transfer window has been notably pragmatic, refusing to be drawn into bidding wars over inflated valuations. That stance has already cost them, with Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes slipping through their fingers as the asking prices proved prohibitive.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has highlighted two names circulating around Carrington's corridors: Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni and Bournemouth's Alex Scott. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained that whilst Tchouameni is viewed as a "fantastic option," salary considerations and Madrid's reluctance to do business present stumbling blocks. Scott, meanwhile, is drawing admiration from both United and Arsenal, though Bournemouth are determined to keep their man and offer fresh terms. That said, Romano suggested the south-coast outfit may find resistance difficult should serious money arrive.
The search for a more economical solution has led United back to Ndidi's door. The Nigerian midfielder, who previously attracted interest at Old Trafford, is currently at Besiktas—where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer orchestrated his arrival last year. Uncertainty has clouded Ndidi's future in Turkey following Solskjaer's exit and the subsequent sacking of successor Sergen Yalcin.
United face competition from newly-promoted Hull City for the 27-year-old's signature, with both clubs understood to be monitoring developments. Saudi Arabian outfits have also circled, though Besiktas have set their valuation at approximately €8 million—the fee they paid to recruit him initially. Despite the swirling speculation, Ndidi is expected to report for preseason training at Besiktas whilst negotiations continue behind the scenes.
