Tottenham have turned their attention to Atalanta's Raoul Bellanova as they hunt down their seventh arrival of the summer window, adding another name to an increasingly eye-catching transfer spree.

The North London club have already made considerable strides in the market, with five signings confirmed and another virtually wrapped up. Roberto De Zerbi's squad clearly needed reinforcement after a harrowing campaign that saw them survive relegation by the skin of their teeth, finishing just two points clear of the drop zone and West Ham, who were relegated to the Championship.

Free transfers have brought in Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka, while Brighton's Jan Paul van Hecke arrived for £52m. West Ham's Mateus Fernandes joined for £85m, and now Newcastle's Sandro Tonali is poised to complete his move to the capital following a medical earlier this week.

Tonali's transfer has proven a record-breaking affair. Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal was done on Wednesday, with the clubs reaching agreement on a fee exceeding the £85m paid for Fernandes. The Athletic's David Ornstein subsequently revealed the precise figures: £92.5m plus £7.5m in add-ons contingent on multiple Champions League qualifications for the 26-year-old Italian midfielder.

With Tonali's paperwork nearly complete, Spurs are already eyeing their next target. According to reports, Bellanova has emerged as a defensive option, with Tottenham, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest all making enquiries about the Atalanta wing-back. Everton have similarly tested the waters regarding a potential deal.

Atalanta are holding firm on their valuation, demanding somewhere between €15m (£13m) and €20m (£17m) for the player. Napoli have also been mooted as a possible destination, with manager Massimiliano Allegri understood to be an admirer of Bellanova's work.
