Atletico Madrid Circle Mo Salah as Griezmann Replacement

Mohamed Salah's next chapter appears to be taking shape in Spain. Atletico Madrid have identified the Liverpool veteran as a prime target to fill the void left by Antoine Griezmann's imminent exit, according to reports.
The 34-year-old Egyptian parted ways with the Reds on June 30 following mutual agreement, despite having twelve months remaining on his Anfield contract. A decline in performances and Salah's resistance to accepting a reduced role in the side prompted both parties to end their association.
Liverpool had recently ranked Salah as their fourth greatest player ever, trailing only Steven Gerrard, Kenny Dalglish, and Ian Rush in the club's pantheon.
Simeone's outfit view Salah as an eye-catching signing, and the financial framework makes the move feasible. Without a transfer fee required, negotiations would centre on wages and signing-on compensation—both likely to be substantial.
Griezmann's departure to MLS outfit Orlando City on July 13 creates the space for Salah's arrival. The Argentine forward departs as Atletico's all-time leading goalscorer with 212 goals to his name.
Atletico have previous form in this particular manoeuvre. The Madrid club recruited David Villa from Barcelona in 2013 and Luis Suarez five years later, winning La Liga in both seasons their respective signings arrived. Should Salah complete the move, it would represent a third consecutive attempt at capturing a veteran forward with something left to prove.
Even during a problematic campaign at Liverpool, Salah managed twelve goals and ten assists, demonstrating he retains sufficient quality at the highest level.
Everton boss David Moyes has already dismissed any possibility of Salah joining the Toffees, describing him as "exceptional" but acknowledging the Merseyside rivalry renders such a deal "impossible."
For now, attention turns to Egypt's World Cup campaign against Argentina. Once that contest concludes, expect clarity on Salah's club future to emerge rapidly.
