Liverpool Ready to Cash In on Elliott and Chiesa – But Only If Conditions Are Met

Liverpool face a busy summer in the transfer market, and raising funds through player sales appears central to their plans. Elliott's Chance to Impress

Elliott's future depends on his pre-season showing under new manager Andoni Iraola. The midfielder endured a frustrating loan spell at Aston Villa and currently finds himself in limbo at Anfield.

However, Iraola has signalled his intention to give Elliott an opportunity to prove himself. "Harvey is here with us. He has come in early," Iraola said recently. "I've seen him with this eagerness to show himself, to get himself ready again. He will have a chance during the pre-season; we will need him."

The manager highlighted how Elliott's early arrival and training with the under-21s are positive signs, noting that last season's difficult circumstances – where he barely got game time – could fuel his hunger to succeed. "I think he uses what he has experienced, the bad situation, to make him even more eager to be a Liverpool player," Iraola added.

But there's a catch. Football Insider reports that Liverpool will listen to offers for Elliott should he fail to impress during the opening stages of pre-season. With the midfielder entering the final year of his contract, his position remains precarious if he doesn't convince Iraola of his worth.

Chiesa Dependent on Incomings

Chiesa's departure is considered more likely, yet it too hinges on one factor: Liverpool's ability to bring in replacements. The Athletic suggests his exit will only materialise once the club has secured their incoming targets.

Jones at a Crossroads

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones' situation remains murky. Inter continue to circle with genuine interest, though they're yet to lodge a fresh bid. With his contract expiring next summer, Jones faces a crucial decision point. Liverpool must act decisively this summer or risk watching another valuable asset leave for nothing – a scenario they've experienced twice already in recent years.
