Manchester United are making moves for Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi as they gear up for a significant summer rebuild at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old German international has caught the eye of the Red Devils' recruitment team, and encouragingly for United, Dortmund have signalled their willingness to sell. The Bundesliga outfit face a contract conundrum with Adeyemi, whose current terms contain just 12 months remaining, with extension negotiations having stalled.

Rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer, Dortmund have indicated they would entertain bids in the €60m-€70m range this window, allowing the player to move on while they can still command a fee.

Adeyemi's reputation precedes him. The left-footed forward boasts extraordinary pace, ranking as the sixth quickest player ever recorded in Bundesliga history. Back in 2023, he clocked a top speed of 22.77mph, which stood as the league's highest mark at the time. His versatility is another asset—capable of operating on either flank, as a second striker, or through the middle.

The transfer landscape around the winger is heating up. Chelsea have also emerged as serious contenders, with both Premier League heavyweights described as particularly keen on securing his services. Liverpool are monitoring the situation, though their level of interest currently sits below that of United and Chelsea.

Adeyemi's representatives are pushing for weekly wages between £150,000-£180,000, a figure that could prove negotiable depending on contract length and structure.

At United, the primary focus this summer remains midfield reconstruction. Casemiro's departure as a free agent and Manuel Ugarte's potential exit have created a void that will demand substantial investment. However, the club's ambitions extend beyond the centre of the park. Left-back, centre-back, and winger reinforcements are all under consideration, with Michael Carrick's squad set to receive a comprehensive refresh as United plot a title assault.
