Rashford Shuts Door on Mourinho's Madrid Move, Commits Future to Barcelona

The speculation surrounding Marcus Rashford's next destination has been resolved with decisive clarity: the England winger is staying put at Barcelona, and he's not interested in what Jose Mourinho might be offering at the Bernabéu.
Rashford currently finds himself on loan at the Camp Nou and was due to return to Manchester United when the season concludes. Barcelona possess a €30million (£26m) option to convert the arrangement into a permanent transfer, but the club's hierarchy have declined to activate it at this stage.
Instead, the LaLiga champions—who have claimed back-to-back titles under Hansi Flick's stewardship—are eyeing an alternative strategy: another temporary deal followed by a permanent switch in 2027. United have rejected this proposal outright, creating the opening through which Mourinho's interest has emerged.
The Portuguese tactician, preparing for his second spell as Real Madrid manager, certainly knows what he's getting with Rashford, having previously overseen the winger during his time in charge at Old Trafford. The prospect of reuniting with a player he rates highly, whilst simultaneously landing a blow against Barcelona, held obvious appeal.
Yet according to reports emanating from Barcelona-aligned sources, Rashford remains entirely unmoved by Madrid's advances. The 28-year-old, who has contributed 14 goals and 14 assists across 46 appearances this season, has made his position abundantly clear: Barcelona is where he intends to remain.
Sources close to the player indicate he is "one hundred percent" committed to the Catalan club and has given explicit instructions to pursue no other avenues. A return to Manchester United, despite still being under contract there until June 2028, holds no appeal whatsoever.
Rashford's exceptional form this campaign—delivering both goals and creative contributions at a consistent rate—has evidently convinced him that his immediate future lies in Spain rather than anywhere else.
